Music Limewire playlist Hello, I am Ruud from Rotterdam/ Netherlands. I gladly use Limewire to download music but suddenly it stores my music in playlists which I don't want for due to this I can't burn my own CD's anymore; the songs are not to be "picked out " the playlist. Somewhere I must have something reset something in Limewire 5,8.4 but I've searched myself silly and I don't seem to be able to solve the problem. Can you help me, please? Many thanks, a desperate Limewire addict |

How to transfer music to my iPod (& iTunes) {click on link} I hope this has enough information for your needs. There is a difference between the LW playlist that appears in iTunes, and the ones you can save from LW that can be opened by other players be it iTunes or another player. The playlist that automatically shows in iTunes cannot be burnt or drag & dropped files from. See the above link for more information about this. But keep in mind you can create & save to HDD your own playlists within LW that can be opened by & burnt via iTunes or other players and burners if you are using LW 5.5 or higher. I realise due to your Nederlands language background you did not realise this thread topic was "Off-Topic" to your problem. Last edited by Lord of the Rings; May 25th, 2010 at 11:07 AM. |

don't want a LW playlist Quote:
Usually the songs were downloaded in a library out odf which I could pick songs to burn on CD. I must have hit the wrong button a short time ago for now they become part of a "playlist" with which I can't make my own CDs. I have searched in Limewire itself, on the net but still I couldn't get the problem solved. Even after your explantation I can't seem to change it back into the old situation. I don't want a playlist but just like before "loose"songs I can burn. So can you please explain how to return to the "old" situation or is it better to remove Limewire fully and install it again so I could get my qold sitation back? Many thanks again and greetings from Rotterdam to you, regards, Ruud |

PHILIPS578 Just a thought here, last year I had something similar happen to me while using another (non-Limewire) application, my right hand accidentally hit my keyboard and changed a setting in the application I was using. And from that point onward, no matter what I did I could not get back my original (favourite) setting. So I ended up having to save all my data on an external HD, uninstall and delete all traces of the application and then finally reinstall and re-customise the application. I'm guessing that you will have to do the same with Limewire. Hope this helps. UK Bob |

I'd suggest this: Try deleting your LW Preferences folder whilst LW is closed; instructions here: Point #3 in Fixes for Limewire (sample image included 2nd last post of page.) But make sure you back up the Downloads(.dat) file. To find where your files are presently, right-click on any of the audio files in your library and choose Locate on Disk. This will take you directly to where the files are stored. I'm guessing you may have accidentally changed the location of where your LW downloads are sent to. Setting Transfer location to default might fix this via LW's tools menu -> Options -> Transfers, however deleting the LW preferences will also have same effect. |
