majcia12, Welcome to the Gnutella forums! To find the episodes you seek you will likely have greater success searching torrent sites. There have been many, many reports of dolphins saving human divers from shark attacks and other hazards. To return the favor we imprison many of them. We assist those in the wild by asking tuna fisheries to kill fewer dolphins. We feed the survivors a di-et rich in plastic, crude oil, and more toxic chemicals than we can count. The next dolphin movie I want to see is 'Flipper's Revenge', or 'Dolphins Take Miami'. They're smart creatures. Some day they'll figure out that we're not their friends. Last edited by Blackhorse 70V; June 14th, 2011 at 09:20 PM. Reason: filter would not accept di-et without the hyphen |

I really hope you're not the people who support the Sea Shepard etc. [strikethrough]fanatics[/strikethrough] franchise. Make sure to send them lots and lots of money to make their bank accounts around the world explode. Also make sure to fully support them, when they come to our beautiful islands to gain more publicity i.e. even more money from gullible [strikethrough]ATM machines[/strikethrough] people, and try to "protect" the people here from practicing ancient tradition by slaughtering and EATING the NOT ENDANGERED BY ANY MEANS pilot whales, which come too close to shore. |

I had a friend who's father worked on the set of the original Flipper TV series (before the uproar over abuse of animals in film and TV productions). As for the captain of the SS, I think he's the guy who was kicked out of Greenpeace. Some of his recent attempts at gaining publicity have only served to prove he's a wanker. Ancient traditions that involve not wasting any part of a slaughtered animal (and only when its species is in abundance) just aren't "civilized". |

In my e-mail today from change. org: 27 dolphins were captured from the waters off the Solomon Islands -- 2 have died so far. The dolphins are intended for an exhibit at a hotel that is still under construction. In the wild, dolphins have a life expectancy of 45 years, and they can swim 40-100 miles a day. They spend half their time hunting for food, which is important for their mental stimulation. In tanks, dolphins swim around in circles. They can't hunt. They're exposed to bacteria that have been known to cause blindness and death. Half of all captured dolphins die within two years. Ric O'Barry, who used to train Flipper, is now a staunch anti-captivity activist. O'Barry wrote an open letter to the CEO of Resorts World Sentosa which read, "We know the people of Singapore love dolphins. Most Singaporeans would object to keeping dolphins in captivity if they knew the dangers to the dolphins and the horrific capture practices of the Solomon Islands and other dolphin capture countries." Change. org is asking the hotel to reconsider. |

What is more civilized? The hell everyday animals go through or the 500 or so pilot whales we kill and eat every year. Those pilot whales are not hunted. As long as they don't come closer to shore than maybe up to 2-3 nautical miles, they are allowed to swim on their merry way. I think many of those SS (what a fitting acronym btw) lovers, do so only to feel good about their restaurant dinners eating veal and whatnot. Poor majcia12, who only came here asking about some TV series. I don't know about season 4 but season 3 exists. I sent him/her a PM but they have not been on here for 3 days now. I think we scared them Last edited by Sleepless; June 16th, 2011 at 05:02 PM. |

Guys While watching the Matrix, sometime ago, this one scene above all else stuck in my mind: Human beings are a disease You know, there is a point to this because, as far as I am aware, most failed civilisations of the past have died out because all their natural resources were consumed which, in turn, caused the ecology of the area to change in such a way that life could no longer be sustained. Don't get me wrong, I do know that some civilisations were destroyed by disease or war, which again was caused because of the need to possess someone else's resources. And now, in the 21st century, we are still doing the same thing. It is as if, as a species, we have a pathological need to consume everything and destroy the stuff we can't immediately use. Unfortunately, I don't believe the human race can carry on the way we are going, devouring all our mineral and animal resources, unless we can develop the technology to find and exploit extra terrestrial resources. After all, there is a vast Universe out there teaming with minerals and who knows what else. If we as a species are going to survive, and not be destroyed by war, starvation or some yet unknown disease, we must explore and we must find new resources or face the inevitable consequences when the earth has no more resources left to give. While I very much agree, I can't help but determine that you are very much derailing the subject. The SS are calling us The Ferocious Isles and devil worshipers because we eat pilot whale. Is that ok in your opinion? http://www.seashepherd.org/news-and-...-110408-1.html Last edited by Sleepless; June 17th, 2011 at 08:44 PM. |

From what I recall, the process with whales is somewhat cruel with the animals suffering agonizing pain for considerable periods. Feel free to correct me about that. Not sure if the Japanese, some other countries & your country's methods are different. Part of the uproar about the whales over here is the *lies* the Japanese give for sending whale boats to the South Pole (ie: for scientific research.) Not to mention whale species in question now being in limited numbers compared to previous decades or centuries (in the southern hemisphere.) Difficult to say harpooning is a 'nice' method of capturing an animal before they are eventually killed after agonizing in pain for long periods. From the article you posted before me, “I wish that Sea Shepherd was here. The killing was not quick and some whales took one to two minutes to die…terrible to watch.” And that's not even in the oceans like the Japanese do it. Those images look like how it was or is done in the far end of Canada or thereabouts that I saw an article about some years back. (BTW there are equivalent or similar groups to the RSPCA around the world with varying influence with their governments. I know the UK does. Ours have some power to press charges directly against those found guilty of animal cruelty. Our states also have their own specific RSPCA. I've made direct donations & bought support items in support for our state's RSPCA of Vic.) Totally my fault. But the original question asked was bordering on breaching the forum rules re: discussing about downloading of copyright items. I chose a different & perhaps unorthodox way of handling the situation, which I suspect the rest of you may have realised. It opened up a can of worms it seems lol. |
