Default Error 1610

I am trying to install LimeWire 2.4.4 on my Win XP system. I had it working fine and then I had to reinstall the os. Now every time I try to install LimeWire I get "Error 1610 - The configuration data for this program is corrupt - contact your support personnel" I have tried to download LimeWire several times and still I get the same error.

Any Ideas?

Lightbulb java ... java ...

remove all of the java runtimes then d/l the new runtimes from sun microsystems. here: http://java.sun.com/j2se/1.4/download.html the new runtimes ... specifically with windows XP ... which was released with limited java support ... the Java 2 service release from sun ... linked above ... resolves many issues and speeds up limewire.

uninstall limewire (including directories, and regristry entries) ... d/l a fresh copy ... install fresh copy ... limewire installer will install version 1.3 of java runtimes ... uninstall them before running limewire ... when limewire starts direct it to the new java runtimes located in c:\program files\java\{something}\bin .... its looking for javaw.exe ....

sounds complicated .... its not ... its actually pretty easy.
