1621 installshield error

hello,

I've read several threads about that problem but, sadly, in none of them a solution was offered.

I've tried to install different versions of lw over the past weaks.
Everytime the installer starts, it downloads a 1667kb file "instmsia.exe". _After_ the download is done, an errormessage is displayed:

1621: Failed to verify signature of file instmsia.exe

Im running Win98 without Internet Explorer. i have T1 connection.
Java is installed.

Here's my solution for the problem.

downloading the "Clean" Limewire 2.1.1 from http://users.pandora.be/karel.boonen...Wire_2.1.1.zip helps.

The installshieldapplication seems to need internet exploiter which annoys me even more than the Spyware.

For anyone else having problems with the above error, make sure that the file "Wintrust.dll" exists on the target system by running a search for that filename. If you do not see it, then downloading a new version of IE probably will solve the problem.

While it is not true that InstallShield relies on IE, it is true that Microsoft relies on IE udpates for updating Windows files. InstallShield, of course, relies on Windows.

I'm connected via AOL have downloaded the exe file and have had the same problem. I keep checking for a solution... to no avail.

i have wintrust.dll running... with a recently patched ie5.5

still getting the 1621 error.

i'm trying an old version of limewire now.. if i dont post back here it worked. :P
