Limewire wont install stays i need JRE but its already installed

i have fixed every problem you have helped me with. Now when i try to install limewire. It comes up that i need JRE v.1.3.1. I have already downloaded it. and installed it. when i try to install limewire it says that i dont JRE v 1.3.1 on my system downloaded or installed. but i do. What do i do please help me? i need to know how to let limewire know that i have already downloaded and installed JRE v.1.3.1?

What O/S are you running? Have you tried uninstalling Java and LimeWire, then reinstalling them both?

i dont know os im running how do i check and find out?

Right click my computer, go to properties, and check what it says under system.
