Right click (Windows) the download link and choose the option "save target as". Choose location & go.

Bear with me as I am virtually computer illiterate. I have tried the right slick "save target as", but when i hit any of the button from my mouse, that Active X Gallery pops up again. As for Operating system, I have no clue. Thanks. I just want to download Lime Wire or Gnutella. I use Kazaa right now, but it kinda sucks.

It's very strange that you are getting ActiveX prompts when trying to download files. This is not normal. It sounds like you're using Internet Explorer. I would recommend trying another browser like Mozilla (www.mozilla.org) but it sounds like you would not even be able to download it.

Anyone else ever heard of ActiveX intering with downloads?

Just a thought, but they may be inadvertantly using one of the dreaded 'downloaders'.

Smile How To Fix It

Copy the winsck.ocx file into your Windows\Sysem directory.

From the Windows Start Menu, run RegSvr32

Location (C:\windows\system\MSWinSck.Ocx)

and your control is now registered.

Hope This Helps

Default This is the solution

I recently had this same issue. You probably had unsuccessfully downloaded a corrupt plugin (i.e. from Real Player, Quicktime, Winamp). The result of such a plugin could affect .exe, .pdf, or other files depending on what application you were using.

Follow the following steps in order to resolve this issue:

Go To Start
Go To Run
Type Regedit
Go To HKEY Local Machine
Go To Soft Ware
Go To Microsoft
Go To Internet Explorer
Go To Plugins
Go To Extension
Right click on Extension and click on delete

I was initially hesitant to delete this file. But I found confirmed that this file is not needed.
