program removal problems I have been using limewire for some time, am very happy to support limewire. However I was trying to upgrade to the newest version, but the program chokes on something. So I downloaded it to a seperate file. But that still leaves the installed program on my hard drive. And that is where my problem begins. I have limited space on my hard drive and the original limewire refuses to be uninstalled from my hard drive. I've tried all the simple things I know. If anyone has a suggestion, please let me know. thx |

LimeWireWin somehow also got stuck in my system - Win 98 w/all updates. Would't respond to a control panel uninstall, wouldn't allow me to reinstall on top of it to straighten out whatever was crapped up. I ended up using RegEdit to search for and delete every LimeWire reference in the registry, then deleted the program directory/subdirs to restart fresh. I was then able to load/run a new copy without problems. Regards, George |
