unable to launch After using various versions, for some months, was suddenly unable to launch then-current version, today, and after downloading and installing 2.8.5. Uninstalled, re-downloaded, reinstalled, all to no avail. Running WinMe on 850mHz PII, 384 megs, 30-gig HD, 60% full. Any ideas? Thanks. Joe |
same problem for me I am having this problem as well. I used the free Limewire for a long time and it was fine. I upgraded to Limewire Pro last month and I can't launch it - I'm running Microsoft 2000 Pro and my online provider is AOL. When I want to use Limewire I have to reinstall it everytime - what a total pain! I get this "LimewireWin.exe has generated errors and will be closed" message. I sure would appreciate any help. :) |
found help Hey, I found a reply on another thread that helped me. This was it: naturally, make sure you have java installed. If it is, find the file javaw.exe on your computer. Make yourself a shortcut that says "pathtoyourjavawfile\javaw" -classpath RunLime.jar RunLime next to "start in" make sure it has the path of the directory where LimeWire.jar is. That should be all you need to do. __________________ author of AquaLime http://mamiyaotaru.mangatoanime.com It took me a bit to play around with it, but now when I double click on the javaw shortcut on my desktop, it opens up Limewire! Hope this helps. ( In the place where it says pathtoyourjavafile, just leave the path that's in there and only add the -classpath part at the end) |
Thank you, Catarina. i did the best I could, tried to follow your directions, but nothing helped. Any more ideas out there? Thanks. Joe |
