downloading limewire

When I try to down load Limewire I get an error message stating. "plugin did not initialize properly". What does this mean and what can I do about it? James

I have never gotten that message. Maybe you should check if your JRE is installed properly?

Thank you for your response. I guess I'm dumb but what is JRE?

JRE is the Java Runtime Environment.
You need that application to run Java programs and applets.
You can download it here if you don't already have it:
http://java.sun.com/
To see if you have it installed, go to the controlpanel and
look for a Java Plugin. If there isn't that icon displayed, you probably need to download the JRE.

If you already have the JRE, check if it is the newest version.
(1.4 I think)

Well thank you again for trying to help me but when I try to down load that I get the same error message "plugin does not initalize properly"
I guess I can't down load anything.
