My husband had bought 2.8.5 pro but it no longer worked (too many bugs), so
I just purchased 3.3 a couple of hours ago. It will not install because it believes it
cannot remove the old lime wire pro even though i have deleted it from my computer.

My error messages are as follows:
Setup could not find a file on the specified path or disk.

unable to locate file
C:\DOCUME~1\wmw\LOCALS~1\Temp\_is6\LimeWirePro.msi

ERROR 1714. The older version of LimeWire Pro could not be removed contact you technical support.

ERROR: -1603. FATAL ERROR during installation


how do i fix this?

please email me with any thoughts or answers, because, even though i am a pro user, the limewire service people have not responded, and i have a feeling they won't. When i had technical problems with windows and they insisted on "fixing" it via email communications, it was a colossal failure and i never was able to fix the problem. I ended up buying a whole new windows platform and starting over.

Did you ever find a solution to this problem? I too am having EXACTLY the same error when running the 3.5.8 Pro installer.
