I first installed LimeWire basic and could not succeed to connect to the network. I decided to switch to the PRO version and installed it. The installation of the Pro version took place in the same directory. In fact I could not launch the Pro version. Instead, the basic version started in place of the PRO one
I decided then to uninstall both version and re-install the PRO version only. The Pro version Was launched but I did not receive the user interface of the Setup Wizard as if the Setup Wizard considered the File environment already set. Instead, I got an error message saying that there were a problem with the Save Directory an asking to set an other one. I got many difficulties to get rid from this point. I finally succeeded but I can not explain how I did. Then the application loading process completed and the application correctly connected to the network.
Since then, LimeWire Pro runs properly. However, as the Setup Wizard did not behave as described in the manual, I am not sure that the file directory fits with the Pro Version. e.g. my save file is called C:\Program Files\LimeWire\3.6.15 i.e. this file has been created when installing the Basic Version and was not uninstalled when I uninstalled the 2 versions.
As a conclusion, It should be fine to get more information in the manual about installation constraints and a description of the file directory.
I forgot to mention that my computer is an HP Pavilion 7920 from october 2001 with Windows Me.
I also got the problem of the Java 2 installation which seems to not finish but without problem
