Uninstall/Upgrade problems when i try to uninstall limewire it comes up with a problem
uninstalling through LimeWireWin3.87.00.exe in the limewire folder: Quote:
error: -1612 The installation source for this product is not availiable. verify that the source exists and that u can access it.
| uninstalling through the upgrade program (v4.0.something): Quote:
setup could not find a file on the specified path or disk. please check that the proper disk is inserted or specify a new path.
unable to locate file c:\windows\downloaded installations\{CLSID hexadecimal code}\LimeWire.msi
| ----next dialog box Quote:
error 1714. the older version of limewire cannot be removed. etc.
| ----next dialog box
fatal error, something looking at msi.chm (MSDN)
how do i fix this? i have a program called regseeker which removes obsolete registry entries. so far this is the only problem i have had since using it. im not sure if thats whats caused this, since its only supposed to remove registry entries and not files.
should i delete the files and remove all registry entries related to limewire? or is there something else vital i have to do? |
