limwire shutdown as soon as i open limewire pro it aoutmaticaly shutsdown dont understand why because i have used this for the past year and its been ok. i have uninstalled reinstalled even gone back to the old limewire but they all do the same can anyone help |
It'd help if you provided your OS vrrsion, connection type, & all those specifics that help a doctor to know to prescribe you an asprin instead of amputating your leg. Or was that brain surgery. lol :D Try deleting your LW preferences & see if that makes any difference. You will need to reset your options after deleting the prefs. They can be found somewhere about here: OS X: /Users/your_username/Library/Preferences/LimeWire Windows: C:/Documents And Settings/your_username/.limewire Linux: ~/.limewire And delete the folder called .limewire |
win xp dsl connection i have tried all that crap about deleting preferences it does not work managed to get limewire open but as soon as i click the options tab it shutsdown again. i run limewire on another system that only has a dial up connection and that is ok |
Try the beta version, 4.1.9 or 4.1.10 I think it's up to. See here: http://www.gnutellaforums.com/showth...threadid=29811 Also it's a good idea to keep your Java up to date: http://www.java.com/en/download/windows_automatic.jsp for 1.4 or version 1.5 can be found here: http://java.sun.com/j2se/1.5.0/download.jsp Tell us how you go. Good luck. There is reason behind my madness for suggesting the beta. This series of betas have been very reliable & very, very good & have got a lot of people out of similar probs. |
I don't know if this will make any difference for your problem but try this suggestion for right-clicking: http://www.gnutellaforums.com/showth...882#post105882 |
i have downloaded the beta version that is what i am running now but it seems to happen with all the version but i will have a go at what you have suggested and let you know |

updating java did the trick i cant thak you enough but why when you download the new vesion of limewire pro does this not give the latest java.thanks i owe you bigtime |
Fantastic! :) Was that Java 1.4 or 1.5 you updated to that solved your problem? ;) LW are going to change the installers in some way in future I believe, but I know little about it at this point. |
