Default Connection Problems

I have Windows XP and am using DSL, i am pretty sure i've disabled the firewall XP has on it, but could be wrong, the following comes up when i try connecting

"Your machine does not appear to have an active Internet Connection or a firewall is blocking LimeWire from accessing the internet. Please check your connection of firewall settings and then select "Connect" from the File menu to connect LimeWire to the network."

If you haven't already, update your Java: Java 1.4.2 (click on link)
Also can you tell us the brand name & model number of your modem/router?
Is XP the only firewall you have? You can double-check your firewall settings here: http://www.limewire.com/english/content/firewalls.shtml
