Unhappy paid $20 bucks

6-7 months ago I paid $20 bucks for what i thought was 6 months of Limewire. After doing some reading to see why it hasn't expired it appears that I should have had PRO, but didn't --- now what??

I'm not sure what you are asking, but the pro version won't expire . . .

The 6 months are for 6 months of updates from a personal Pro download page, so just keep downloadling the updated versions from your Pro page as long as the page allows. Once the time expires so will the links on the page (or at least it did the last time I checked), and there'll be a message encouraging renewal.

The pro version you already downloaded will still continue to work.

Cheers

If it is asking you to go Pro, then it's the free version. Check the "About LimeWire" menu to see for sure what version you are using. Maybe you have several versions installed and the shortcut points to a free

The Pro version should have been downloaded from your Pro page: you can see if it is still active by using the email address you used to get the Pro
http://www.limewire.com/english/cont...pro_lookup.jsp

the free version is on the http://www.limewire.com/english/content/download.shtml page.

sounds like it.

Still, the free is almost as good as a the Pro (most wouldn't notice the difference). Too, you can build your own for free since it is open source.

The 6 mo update is pretty fair: I like supporting this project and so it makes a good reminder to keep on supporting the folks who do the coding. See http://www.limewire.org/ to see if you think so too (I like the fact they recognize the opensource coders)
