Limewire will not download onto my computer

I don't understand I have had limewire before but now it wont download I go to the page and click on basic and and then it says choose platform and I click windows and soon as I do that my computer pops up with a window that says that internet explorer has encountered and error and needs to close and just closes out every window I had open I don't get why I cannot download the program cause I will even pay for it and stuff like that but I don't want to pay for something if I can't download it cause I looked at their refund policy and they have and absolute no refund policy.
Does anyone know what might be happening and what I might do to fix the problem?

You may have some malware on your computer, try running a full system scan with your Anti-virus program...Also run a few spyware programs as well...

I have done many system scans... and I don't have any as far as I know according to my norton so I really don't know what to do.

You could try installing Firefox and see if you can download limewire through that browser....
