Won't update to LW 4.6.0

So I go to the screen with the chart showing the differences between Basic and PRO. I select the "Basic" button, and it takes me to the screen with the download links for Windows, Mac, etc. But when I select the Windows download link, all it does is open a new window, which is the screen with the chart that I mentioned before. It will keep doing this over and over if I keep trying again. I really want to update to 4.6.0. Help?

I'm guessing it may be due to your browser. I've already updated to LW 4.6 & just tried the link & it's still working at present. If possible, try another browser if you have another. I certainly hope you're not relying on one browser for everything. Many people have more than one browser in case one plays up. Please try another browser. Also, may I recommend you SAVE the installer to your Hard Disk Drive & not install over the net. After saving, then install it.

My Windows version below (note I installed Java 1.5 before I updated):

Well, this same problem actually happened when I first tried to download LW. I didn't really know what to do. Back then there was a BETA version, 4.4.1, I think (or at least that's what I have downloaded). I tried to download that BETA version, and for some reason that one worked.

And yes, I do have only one browser, Internet Explorer.

I haven't had any problems with Explorer in Windows though I did for mac. You may need to clear your history with Expl but I dared not suggest cache otherwise any auto sign ins you have will be lost. That happened to me lol. Um ... I don't suppose you'd consider instlling a new browser as a backup? Not only downlds have I had issues with one browser which is why a 2ndary backup browser always comes in handy. Firefox (click on link) is supposed to be one of the new wave & top of its class browsers around. Check it out.

This person sorted their installation issue though a bit different: http://www.gnutellaforums.com/showth...threadid=33845

Hmmm...I read that thread you linked me to. You think if I download the latest version of Java it'll work?

I'd recommend installing Java 1st.
