Fix Open Freezing Problems

Ok, for all of those who have experienced limewire freezing when opening and the nothing opens, this will fix those errors. The problem is kernel32 which is a windows dynamic link library. Your computer uses it to do many connections and links with certain programs.

To reinstall your kernel32.dll from your windows cd, go the the second post made by Peerless below. Thanks.

Download it to your program files and extract the files and leave it there. Then you need to make sure you have the latest java runtime. Then after all that i would suggest that you restart you r computer and reinstall limewire. This worked for me so it should help some people.

GOOD LUCK!

The link doesn't work. I'm also very suspicous of that patch that could be anything including a trojan

People, don't download that until we are sure this is legit!

Ciao

Excellent Peerless, people that are ready to try should follow your link, this is 300% more secure reinstalling the file from your disk than getting a "swedish win32 kernel" from unkown sources. I'll edit the first post so people try Peerless link.

Ciao

For your info, I did what you suggested and ran the sfc on my XP.

Useless! it did not find any faulty files and LW still crashes.

Any other bright ideas???

Thanks Dark horse for your efforts, i am going to replace my memory - could be that.

Sorry for being harsh...not feeling too great

I have had another thought..if I format a different HDD and install Xp and LW - and the pc were still to crash, would this mean that the problem lies within LW and a compatibility issue with XP?

any ideas?

Not really. You have to remember LW uses Java and other features that aren't OS related. for example Chipset, Display adapters, and sound cards just to mention a few. There are a variety of ways to setup a comp. these with different hardware and software.

BTW: I put a response in your other post also. Check it out.
