Default Limewire Freezes On Installing Java

Tried installing limewire for the last few nights and still have had no luck with it. It begins to install then when it gets to installing java it just stops and wont go any further. Even though the loading java part shows its doing something i have left it for 2 hours and it still wont proceed any further. I also tried installing it at 2 of my friends houses on their computers which are brand new machines with 2600mhz processors and 512mb ram and the same problem occured. I used to have limewire on this machine before it got formatted and it ran fine however im sure it would have been a old version because it was over 4 months ago when i downloaded it. Is there anyway to get limewire 4.6 again? or does anyone have any suggestions as to how to overcome this problem.

Thanks,
Roy.

I downloaded the limewire "other" version and unzipped it and installed it but it says i need java. however i downloaded the latest version of java from the java.com website and when it gets to finishing installation it jams. lol im having no luck at all would happen to know a link to a possible older version of java or a link to the java software thats bundled in the limewire install program that i could use?

Roy.
