Java demo??

Anyone know where you find the Java demos at www.java.com to see if your intallation of Java is working? Looked all over for them but couldn't locate them! I seem to have the same problem with not being able to see the buttons and screens in Limewire!? Changed from the Catylist control panel to the ATI control panel (I think)...didn't help my problem!

From your link --- click help ---- fill in -- the refine your search --- click the arrow next to it ---

When the next window appears click installation instructions ---- you should see the link your looking for.

Well, I did find a link to check the JVM and it states that I have the latest Java drivers and the little graphic at the bottom of the page dances around! Still haven't found any other demo but I guess I have Java installed correctly! Funny thing is...I can sorta use Limewire if I have it start automatically at bootup but if you don't do this, Limewire will not start after the computer is booted! Gives a Fatal error everytime! I could live with this except that the graphics buttons and such on Limewire screens don't show up! With Limewire like this, I can't setup anything in the Options screen. You can scroll the mouse around and get some of the text to show up but none of the buttons show up so you can select them. I have tried just about everything I have read in this forum to no avail...I have also read about this International limewire version and it was suggested to try this version because the installer was different. I haven't been able to find the International version anywhere!? I did find the DaveBar version...perhaps that's the International version but I don't know. It didn't work either! Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks

Just a thought.

What version of windows are you using?

If XP try going to control panel>internet connections>highlight and click repair from the left side of the screen. This sometimes help.

Also what display adapter do you have?

Using Windows XP...have all the latest updates. I don't have a Internet Connections in my Control panel...just Internet Options. I have an ATI 9800 pro card with the most recent drivers.

Ooops I meant network connections.

Did you roll back the drivers also when you removed the ati catalyst and installed the ati contol panel.

Rolled back the drivers? Apparently not! Not sure what you mean...I just installed the ATI control panel over the Catylist...Also installed Omega ATI drivers with to no avail...

You know, it's funny...everything else on my computer is working just fine...it's just Limewire that seems to have trouble!? I even tried to install Limewire in Safemode but the installer wouldn't finish the setup! I don't think the video drivers are at fault...everything seems to work smoothly except for Limewire. I hope Gnutella finds a solution...there seems to be numerous people having trouble with it...I'm gonna miss it for now!

Hmm..

Its a bug in ATI's drivers, turn off AA and/or true to pass the following commands to java:

-Dsun.java2d.noddraw=true
-Dsun.java2d.d3d=false

or install older drivers.

ATI drivers are just crap, trust me ;-)
