I had a recent computer crash. In the process of fixing it, I lost Limewire. I've had it for probably a year.and love it! I paid $29.95 for it when I got it. I've tried both my email addresses, it won't accept either one. Since I'm am computer stupid, knowing very little about computers. Thanks very much for any help.

You have paid your $29.95 to a scam site, LW Pro cost under $19.00, which includes six months worth of free upgrades, and LW is free, both are available from here:

In most cases I would advise you to try and get your money back, i.e. conned into buying something that's free, but as it has been over a year I don't think you will have any chance.

As you are a computer novice, I guess you will have to put this down to experience.

The real LW was never 29.95, but some scam sites might have charged that, which could explain why the email addresses don't work at www.limewire.com.

However, even LW's Pro version is only updateable for 6 months, so your upgrades would have expired already.

Anyway, the most recent LW is much better than it was a year ago, so you are still ahead of the game if you download the free version. http://www.limewire.com/english/content/download.shtml
