Another way to send downloaded Limewire songs to iTunes and convert them to AAC:
Go to your Limewire shared folder. Right-click on the song you want to add to iTunes, then scroll down to "open with". Click on iTunes. iTunes will automatically open and play your song. It is best to do this with all the songs you want to send to iTunes before you start converting, this way yyou can convert them all together by clicking on one song, then pressing "Alt" and as you keep your finger on "Alt", click once on each song you want to convert. Right-click on all the songs in iTunes and scroll down to "Convert to AAC".
After it is finished converting, there will be a duplicate of the same song. One song is the Limewire download and the other is the AAC converted song. Right-click on one of the songs, go to "Get Info", then click on the "Summary" tab. The first item on the left side says, Kind: (then there's a file type following it). Keep the file that says AAC and delete the other.
Another way (which I feel is easier) is, after I right-click on all the songs and start converting, I uncheck all the Limewire songs on iTunes, this way when they're finished converting, I know which songs to delete and which songs are converted to AAC without having to right click and check the info.
This may sound like it's complicated, but it's really not once you actually do it one time. I find that this is the easiest way to convert Limewire downloads to AAC thru iTunes. I don't know if you will think so, but just thought I would share. Hope this helps you! |
