Weird Problem, could use some help.

Hey, limewire has been working great for me for about a year now but then today i try to use it and it says its encountered an error and asks me if i want to send/review/discard...it says that this can be fixed by redownloading and reinstalling limewire which i did, and still get the same error. The error occurs after i double click the limewire icon.

It may well be a Java problem then. Uninstall Java & reinstall. Save the Java installer to your comp 1st. Don't install over the net.

If this doesn't fix it, try deleting your LW Preferences folder whilst LW is closed; instructions here: Fixes for Limewire

I tried running it in compatibility mode for windows 2000 and that fixed it. (It didn't work after i unistnalled java, redownloading and reinstalled it.)

Oh and deleteing .limewire didnt work either.

thanks for your help, i really appreciate it.

I have to say i wouldnt of thought of making it windows 2000 compatable would fix the java problem. I uninstalled and reinstalled java and limewire several times trying to get it to work and still nothing. Then i came across this post and it was the answer to all my questions. Thank you very much for posting this so all could read it. It is very much appreciated :)

Blessed Be,
