I've had Limewire working before but I reformated, redownloaded and it doesn't work. It's not like I'm getting an error or anything it just won't start the loading screen. I click the Limewire Icon and nothing happens at all. An hourglass appears next to my cursor for a second, but quickly disappears. Does anyone know what could be the cause for my Limewire to not start up?

same with me.. i run windows XP. Limewire used to work, but doesnt now... same hourglass dilly.. HELP! i need my music!

well the little start up this comes up and a few seconds later a window pops up saying " limewire has encountered a fatal internet erroe and will now exit. this is generally casued by a corrupted installation"...and i keep uninstaling it and re instaling it...and it still does it..this has never happend b4...and i don't know how to fix it...i run windows XP

Reinstall Java. Use the JRE offline installer & remove your current Java version before installing the new one.

Delete LW's preferences folder. See point 3 below (also point 2 if you've used much older versions of LW in the past). This will kill all of your settings within options, you'll have to go back through & reset things afterwards.
