I thought i would download the basic version and try it out before purchasing the complete package. I have now tried downloading the program twice and both times it gets stuck whilst trying to download java and won't let me close it down and wont even let me do the old control, alt, delete trick to get rid of it and start again.... Is the full version 5,000,000 times better, because it is going to have to be for me to part with my money....? I have now come here and my problem has been joined with a multitude of other problems... I have been told that this is the best file sharing site on the net, from where i'm sitting the others must be the pits. If i am not prepared to give them my money, they wont even help me.... ? what the ?
Can anyone assure me that my impresion of this wrong and it is worth trying and can they tell me how to get passed my current downloading problem...

Download the Java JRE 5.0 update 4 yourself http://java.sun.com/j2se/1.5.0/download.jsp

Then LW will install. Test the basic before buying the Pro, this is my advice.

Downloaded Java (got a BA in quamtem cryptolagy whilst waiting), everything went to plan, i then downloaded Lime wire and done it in no time at all (getting excited now, this could be it), It came up 'please wait whilst Lime wire initializes'. Waited for 10 mins,,, nada'. So restarted, clicked the icon 'please wait whilst Lime wire initializes' came up and i'm still waiting 15 mins later. Is this normal, does it take a long time to initialize? Or have i to do something else?

Done it and got a bit further but now it has jammed whilst performing the 'Firewall preparation'.... i was prompted to allow the program and i did so but now the window is blank and it wont close down... What's my next step on my journey,lol.?

What OS are you using? Are you using the windows 98/windows ME pieces of total crap?

I'd search for everthing containing "limewire" trash them then try to reinstall.

I would also use windows update and do a spyware check with adaware. Something seems wrong on your system, millions of LW users do fine on Windows.

Windows XP and i am using norton anti everything but i did allow the pop up i had, so it should have been ok. Will try downloading again.

I tried again, this time it got stuck before asking me to allow access, what really really winds me up is the fact it won't close down, thats getting right on my ****. I'll try once again and report back with my progress, backwards or forwards.
