I'm a complete n00b
But when I try to install Limewire 4.8.1 it gets stuck at the point where the java thing is installed. How do I make this installation work. I've tried downloading the install setup a couple of times..

I have Java Plug-in 1.3.0_02 (Java Runtime Standard Ediition) installed but the proggie fails to install completely.

Sys: P3@3G/1GRAM/XP Pro w SP2/2x200GBHD/etc...

Install Java 1st! But downld the Java installer to your comp (don't install over the net!) & then install it. Java 1.3 is way too old & beasterly for LW to use now. Java 1.5 (take the JRE)

Let me see if I have this correct because I have the same problem and JRE is in add/remove but not in the task mgr to "end task" on it...

So do I need to uninstall 1.3? Because I did and now when I go to Java.Sun and click on the "download" link it just gives the "error page not available" message. So I really hope they are just having problems on their website.

And after I download 1.5 will I have to install it... or does it just automatically prompt me to? And after that do I need to uninstall & re-download LM or do I just run the installer? A MILLION THANKS, I have been trying to get this for weeks.
