I can't uninstall Limewire completly. I can remove it via the add/remove programs menu in the control panel. But after that I get a java message saying that it could not a find a critical file and gives me a load of information about set up files. So it obviously hasn't been removed. I have tried reinstalling and then uninstalling again, but to no avail. Anyone have any ideas? Cheers

WHich version of LW are you talking about uninstalling. The new installer version doesn't use the add/remove control panel! See http://www.gnutellaforums.com/showth...threadid=40838

If you wanted to install a new version, if your previous version was LW 4.4 or later, then LW will uninstall it during the installation process. But for earlier versions, see the above link. The new versions uninstaller can be found in the LW program folder or go to Start menu>Programs>LW>Uninstall.

I have version 4.8.1 I have tried using the uninstaller built into the program but it still leaves the files in my Program Files folder. Which cannot be removed manually. Cheers for your help.

Having used the add/remove control panel initially might have mucked things up for the uninstaller program. I don't know. Make sure LW is not open or sitting in your task bar when you try to uninstall.
