Try these suggestions: Fix for opening Limewire "Fatal Error Message"

Also I hope your intel driver was updated. I'm aware dell laptops had some problems. ie:

2. http://www.gnutellaforums.com/showth...&highlight=bsd

3. http://www.gnutellaforums.com/showth...&highlight=bsd

4. http://www.gnutellaforums.com/showth...&highlight=bsd But if you have a new one this might not be an issue!

OK maybe i misunderstood. Which version of LW are you using? LW 4.8.1 or one of the 4.9.x betas?

So you tried changing compatibility mode of LW to win 2k, & you tried running Java 1.4.2 instead of Java 1.5?

If you have tried those things then perhaps beta might be the way to go. http://www.limewire.com/english/content/beta.shtml or if you're a pro user you'll find a link to the pro beta on your personal downld page.

Can you give more detail about what happens & after which events? Does LW actually open up at all & if yes, does it crash & at what point?

im using the 4.8 version. I can't go into add/remove files and change it because there is only a remove option. after i install LW i goes thourgh the screens of what type of connection i have and search for files etc. then the pop up asking me if i wan't to up grade to LWPro comes up then i get the fatal internal error. I now have java run time environment 1.5.0 update 4 and i tired 1.4.my laptop is only one day old so i can't imagine something being out of date. this is weird hope this helps more
