Problem with a java update stopping limewire starting
 

hi there

i had java 2 i think and it updated to either 4 or 5


as soon as this happened java would not work.

i am using limewire 4.9.23

are there any know issues, bugs or patches

so i can update the java again

For some reason Java 1.5 doesn't behave well on everybody's system. I'd suggest in the meantime you uninstall Java 1.5 using your Add/Remove Programs control panel & then install Java 1.4.2 instead. Sun Java 1.4.2: http://java.sun.com/j2se/1.4.2/download.html (Choose the JRE)

i had the exact same prob as you a few months back and when i uninstalled and tried to install again i kept getting conflicting errors sayin i already had that version of JRE installed.in the end i emailed them my prob(address on their homepage) and they replied in a day or so wit a link for a clean install which worked a treat,good luck.....
