Unhappy can't delete old files. can't install new ones!

installed free limeware four months ago (unfortunately from a third party site for a fee!) and haven't had a problem. finally this week i clicked the upgrade to new version icon and then the problems began,
1. would not install....installation corrupted etc.
2. went to full install...installation corrupted etc

in both cases kept telling me that i had a version running and so install couldn't continue. not the case.

also, original version ceased to operate...at all.

3. went to add/delete programs and uninstalled.
4. same problem as in in 1 and 2
5. went into programs file and it was of course still there, began to delete it...can't because blink file and jars are shared and wouldn't let me delete.

so, in just trying to stay current by getting the newest version i now have no limeware (which i've liked), no ability to reinstall, and no ability to deinstall the remaining components.

what should i do next? is there a way to clean the old off so i can simply reinstall? help......

actually that's what i did when i tried to upgrade. the official site is where the problem began. i sent a message to bugs@limewire.com but no response. still sitting there with part of the files not deleted and no way to get downloads to work.
thanks anyway.

if i could get the partial limewire files (jar files mostly) off then i would download from the official site immediately.

Hi bluesman

What could be happening is when you went to upgrade from the official site, you are now getting a conflict.

You say you downloaded Limeware from a third party site, they could have changed some of the code in the prog to their own uses

Uninstall that ver, then try it from the official site which is www.Limewire.com and see what happens also goto www.java.com in install manually the latest ver, install the java Before you install Limewire
