Hi There,

Can anyone help.... I have been using Limewire for some time now but recently I keep getting the following message:-

Limewire Launcher Error

LimeWire was unable to load.
Please download and install Lime Wire again.

OK

I have uninstalled and re-installed LimeWire half a dozen times but still get the same error message. During this process I have also deleted any reference to LimeWire in the registry and system in general....

Anybody any ideas......???

Which version of LW are you using? Downld the offline installer. Else, use the 'Other' version & all you need to do is unzip it to use it. Make sure you have Java installed 1st. See Here about other version.

Thanx for the reply..... I tried your suggestions but still get exactly the same error message.

I also tried removing & re-installing Java but still no luck.

The version I am using is 4.9.29 Basic.

any other ideas......???

Which version of Java do you have? If you have version 1.5 then uninstall it using your Add/Remove control panel. Then install Java 1.4.2 But if you have Java 1.4.2 then install Java 1.5 Sometimes one version of Java doesn't run well on particular systems. Please choose the manual install. See links here: Fixes for Limewire You could also try the other options listed there such as changing LW's compatibility, etc. if the Java installation still doesn't fix it.

Yep you were right

There were 4 instances of java running. I uninstalled the lot inc. LW and did a complete install of LW which then recognised Java was not installed and proceeded to load it for me.

Everything now ticketyboo........
