Default Moving LimeWire to a new computer

I have a truly ancient computer - a P2-350 with 128MB RAM and two hard drives, 6.4GB and 120GB (guess which one I installed myself). Although the old beast has performed faithfully over the years and still does ALMOST everything I ask of it, it really is getting long in the tooth. Sooner or later, I'm going to bite the bullet and get a new computer.

Can I simply copy the LimeWire installer I downloaded last year, from my old computer to my new computer, and run it again? Or am I going to run into registration problems ("You are attempting to pirate an already installed version of this program! Prepare to be shot!")? I have LimeWire Pro 4.8.1, so my subscription for free updates has probably run out. I'd rather not have to fork over the money again, so if anyone can tell me I can just re-run the old installer on the new computer, I'd be most pleased.

Thank you.

There should be no problem. But basic is free there would be no reason for you to have to pay for it. And there really isn't allot of difference between basic and pro. The newer versions seem to work allot better for me than the old ones did. You can get the newest version at the link below.

Thank you , Grandpa. Do you know if the free version still comes with loads of advertising?

The only advertiseing is the annoying pop up asking if you want to upgrade to pro. There is no spy ware in the basic or pro version of limewire

The latest versions of LimeWire should give you fewer spam results.

4.9.30 also makes a much better ultrapeer, and maintains a better performing ratio of leaves to ultrapeers.
