Default LimeWire doesn't accept offline Java?

My friend has problems with her LimeWire.. and she doesn't understand computers very well so I'm trying to help.

Supposidly she can't download the online and latest version of Java because she's missing a bunch of folders and files on her computer. And the Java website says if you get this Error 1131 then you can just download the offline version. So she did, but when she tried to start up LimeWire it said that she needed the latest version of Java and the ONLINE version.

So HELP?

Which version of Java did you downld? It needs to be either Java 1.4.2 or 1.5

See Fixes for Limewire & get the JRE versions & offline installer. Yes offline is the way to go. It might be wise to uninstall what you have & reinstall from scratch. There might have been some residual files left over from the original installation. To uninstall Java use the Add/Remove control panel. Trying to remove it any other way such as manually will probably cause problems.
