Like various people on here is seems I was unaware LW was free and ended up paying for the PRO service which never arrived...What I can't work out though is i did it through the www.winmx.com which I was sure was a legitamate website...Is it possible for people to hijack these sites to take people away to their fraudulent ones? I did find myself at www.musicmembersarea.com, and that was the site from which i purchased the software, to the tune of about 50 dollars..! But well, you live and learn...

How long ago did you make the purchase? If within the last 30 days then you still might have some recourse. For a start, see if there's a refund policy at the site. 2nd explain to your c/card co. that is was a scam site & you didn't get what you paid for.
I don't know if this is any help but worth a look at: get your $$$ BACK!!! (music members)

Oh & www.winmx-downloading.net/ is a scam site. I don't know if it's the same one you went to. But that site is a part of many sites with many names using the Squid logo. They are all scam sites.

sorry if you said not to post here. So, I went through Winmx and ended up with LimeWire. You are telling em that I was ripped off? So what is a legitimate download site. What is recommended?

I too paid money ($27.00 Australian dollars,which turned out to be over $60.00 American, not Quite exchage rate I thought.......ripped off!!!!!!!) thinking that it was going to be paid to limewire, but after checking with my bank, the money went to
this site....ipm-mp3support.net .
Why , I dont know. Suffice to say I was not aware until after I paid , and I just cannot connect to anything(always says connecting on the screen, but does not. this is after adjusting
firewall settings according to instructions).
What I would like to know, is LimeWire connected with ip-mp3support.net? Because when you log on that site, it does not mention anything about LimeWire!!
