My installation went fine. When I click the icon to open the program for the first time, nothing happens.

Please note: I am a experienced user of the program. I have tried this install/open numerous times. My old version got deleted somehow (kids: I don't know what happened Dad!)

Try reinstalling your java. But don't install over the net, downld the "offline" installer & then install. If you install Java 1.5 & it still doesn't work, then uninstall it using add/remove control panel & install Java 1.4.2 instead. See Java links here: Fixes for Limewire
