Java Freezing on install
 

Hi,

I suspect reading through the forums, that my problem is not new.

I have followed all the help ideas, yet still I can't load LimeWire Basic. Does anyone have a full proof method to make this work ?

I was going to download the Pro version but am hesitant to if I can't get the Basic version to install completely.

The version of Java that I have is;
Java 2 Runtime Enviroment Standard Edition v1.3.1_16

That version of Java is fine for browsers but not for LW. You should get the "offline" Java installer. See link for it here point #1 Fixes for Limewire And then open or install LW. You need at least Java 1.4.2 or 1.5 is the latest. But 1.5 doesn't always run well on all people's comp configuration.
