* The way to uninstall LW is go to Start menu >Programs>LW>Uninstall. This only uninstalls what was installed during the installation process. It does not remove the preferences folder or downld/incomplete folders. * The way to uninstall Java is to use the Add/Remove programs control panel. It's not uncommon to get corrupt/incomplete installations of Java when installing over the net. For that reason I would recommend getting the "Offline" installer & installing from your computer. Get a link for Java from point #1 here: Fixes for Limewire To re-install LW, I would also recommend the "Offline" installer. The installer will also uninstall previous LW at the beginning of the installation process. Oh & re: popup windows for license, you can undo this in your search preferences; see License requirement (click on link)

sorted it this was long winded so bear with me first, virus wouldn't let me delete LW and kept geting anoying popups so heres what i did 1. run ada-ware to remove spyware 2.ran a search on limewire in windows search. 3 deleated all the files it would let me. 4. open program files in windows explorer found LW folder 5. changed properties from read only. 6. draged and dropped it on to my desktop 7. deleted its ****. 8. empted the bin. 9. problem solved. thank f**k. for some reason this was the only combination that worked. now im thinking twice about LW. |
