limewire hanging on loading user interface screen. please help as stated above limewire keeps freezing on the loading user interface screen. i have tried unstalling both limewire and java then reinstalling but this has not made a bit of difference! can anyone help please sennett |
Use the suggestions here http://www.gnutellaforums.com/showth...threadid=47551 which means using the "Offline" installers for both LW & Java. If that still doesn't fix it, uninstall your Java using the add/remove control panel, then try the other version of Java in the link under point #1. Check which version you're using at the moment. If you're using 1.5 then 1.4.2 might be the go. But also delete your LW prefs folder as suggested. |
need help on that issue too I see others have my problem...LM was working great for the first 2 weeks, then have not been able to use it..."loading interface" keeps going, and going. I've done the java thing, deleting the LM preferences and have reloaded the offline (MANY times). I use XP, my firewall allows LM and so does my virus system. I have the service pack 2. Have no idea why it won't work..the absolute only thing that has changed since it works is I received updates from Windows for security issues????? Please tell me what to do...I really want to use Limewire. At my wits end. |
fix Hi, I had the same problem, all working fine, ran windows update, installed .net v2, did some spyware removal and something broke somewhere.... I tried reinstalling limewire, rebooting etc.. etc.. but was still bust, was just hanging on the initial splashscreen. Anyway, I fixed it by uninstalling java from control panel and reinstalling from http://java.com/en/download/index.jsp .NET v2 knackering java installs by any chance ?? now THATS one for the conspiricy theorists to get excited about :-) Hope this helps someone else, Rob |
"LOADING USER INTERFACE" I am having the exact same problems with both limewire and frostwire. Have done everything suggested including reinstalling windows but still stuck on "loading user interface" when I try to open. I have windows xp and and broadband connection. I am a bit of a novice but have an 'expert' helping me who understands all this stuff. Mx:( |
