downloading User interface for Basic Hello I have downloaded the latest free version of limewire to evaluate before paying for Pro and cant get the User interface process to complete. On two different occasions the loading user interface box appears and the scanning bamd is moving from left to right but the process fails to complete. I am using a 2mb broadband connection and win xp pro with sp2 Please help me |

I would recommend these things: 1. Reinstall LW using the "Offline" version. 2. Reinstall Java using the "Offline" version; link to Java here Fixes for Limewire You may need to uninstall Java 1st using the add/remove control panel. 3. Delete the LW preferences if there are any. See point #2 in the above link. 4. Did you configure your firewall so it allows LW full access (advisable not to have 2 active firewalls b/c they can interfere with each other); Firewall configuration instructions (click on link) 5. If you have any anti-virus/anti-spyware, etc. utilities ... check them to be sure programs don't require permission to open & connect to the net. 6. See The way to fix the Blank screen on startup to be sure this isn't your problem.
