Tangled up Limewire! Hello, can anyone help me here?
I downloaded Limewire Pro, but then got the message that I needed Java Runtime Environment. I've attempted automatic download and offline and manual, all of which seemed to go well, but then I got this message:
"Illegal System DLL Relocation
System DLL32kernel.dll was relocated in memory. The application will not run properly. The reolcation occurred because DLL C:\WINDOWS\system32\KERNEL32.dll occupied an address range reserved for Windows systems DLL. The vendor supplying should be contacted for a new DLL."
I'm running Windows XP Home on an Acer desktop.
I've trawled through the forums but haven't been able to find a thread that deals with this problem. When I tried to uninstall Limewire I got the above message again - it's moved in and it ain't going nowhere!
Any assistance would be appreciated. At the risk of making a twit of myself (but my name says it all anyway) I would offer this criticism: there was nothing on the Limewire Download site that warned me that I needed JRE before LW would run. It seems a fair number of people are tripping up on this, and maybe the site could be altered to save future users grief. |
