* The site could be temporarily unavailable or too busy. Try again in a few
moments.

* If you are unable to load any pages, check your computer's network
connection.

* If your computer or network is protected bya firewall or proxy, make sure
that Firefox is permitted to access the Web."

Sounds like a buggy installation. I've sent a pm to a few other members to try to work out why you have browser issues. I presume Firefox is compatible with earlier versions of Java 1.4.2

ok, thanks for the help so far

et voilà December 26th, 2005 12:05 PM

hummm, you know, when there is problem with web surfing and P2P, there is a problem with your firewall app or config. I suppose you have Windows firewall on. I'm sure you have another one as well which might be the cause of your problems. Try disabling that application which might be an antivirus app. Then try firefox and LW.

If neither works, (and even if it works...) I recommend you to reinstall (backup then reformat your disk) windows.

When anormal things like that happen --- time for a reformat-- and be warry of what you install as programs to not fuXXor your system again.

Ciao

Rupert2020 said:
Are you sure you are running the latest version of Java? Version 1.4.2 you mentioned above is an old version.... You should have the new version 5 (update 6) jre-1_5_0_06.exe

This new version help solve the connection problem me.
