i just got limewire pro 4.9 september2005 now i can not update to limewire 4.10, when i enter email ad. it said the wrong one..... i only have one email... what gives

i like to say,THANKS,for the help you put me on the right train....limewire updated when i did that ,and i paid 24.00 for my lw is that becouse i paid 4 lifetime........

There is no lifetime subscription to LimeWire Pro. There is only Pro for $18.88 you get Pro and 6 months of free upgrades. LimeWire basic is free to use as long as you like. You have probably been scammed. Only get LimeWire from the official site. If you got it from music match or any of the other numerous scam sites you probably paid $25 for basic which is free. And that is probably why LimeWire does not recognize your E-Mail.

well,well,well,that stinks but still got lw pro and lost $6.12,i hope the person who got the money falls and cant get up,it well come back around on them before they know it .they will see some bad days there dog will get ran over,there house will brun down,and there car motor will blow up and i hope they invest that money to get out of the jam they will go threw.im the type of person that if i owe you,i pay you,but dont take it if i dont owe you,i work to hard for mine....so as my grandpa use to tell me once you step in it, it dont matter if you step right or left ,it still on your foot so they need to clean there shoes,,,,i will report it to my credit card company... and the b.b.b but thanks for the info.......xxxx

I like the way you laid out that "curse" on the thief that scammed you but, I have to say, such people are beyond curses because scamming people is what they do for a living, they are professional crooks.

And one other thing, if you got your LW Pro from the scam site you must realise that you are not entitled to any updates or support from the LW org, simply because the crooks got your money not LW.

I, like you, am a working man and it makes me sick that there are parasites and vultures out there that prey on us and just see us as sheep to be fleeced.

Just remember, the only real protection you have against these scum bags is your common sense.

i must have the real thing when i went to my email and down loaded i went from lw pro 4.9 to lw pro 4.10 but i still paid 22.49 for lifetime unlimted access and it was .99 a month for 2yrs and a 1.49 a month for one year ... and i just looked to make sure at www.limewire.com and now cnet has a free download for lw4.10 that is not right and we people pay.....that like getting a pay check and not doing no work... but life is not fair you take the good with the bad................

Just curious what is the site that you got it from. That is the first scam site that I have heard of that actually paid LimeWire for Pro. Are you sure you got Pro you can check by clicking on help while LW is running then clicking on about it should say LW Pro at the top of the page. If it is indeed Pro and you were able to update it from the Pro download page then you should be able to get support from LW.

But remember you will only be able to upgrade for 6 months and then you will have to pay for Pro again.

You have me somewhat confused, I, like Grandpa, have never heard of a scam site that would upgrade LW basic to LW Pro, they usually pretend that they can but still only provide a URL link to LW Basic.

And I would ask the same question Grandpa asked, are you sure you have LW Pro?

And, above all, remember that all this "lifetime" nonsense and monthly subscriptions is "money for nothing", i.e. you pay and get nothing in return.

One small point, if bwhiteboy paid for his LW Pro via a scam site then technically he is not entitled to support from the LW org, his only entitlement is to support from the people who got his money. Unless the scammers have some sort of deal/arrangement going with the LW Org, which is doubtful but possible (businesses makes strange bedfellows), bwhiteboy is highly unlikely to get the six months worth of upgrades/updates and support he would normally be entitled to.

I've never heard of any scam site actually delivering on their promise to provide LW pro. If you do indeed have LW Pro, it will be visible on the front interface. See sample below to check for sure you have pro.

BTW can you tell us what site you paid your money to?

i went on my address bar and typed in www.limewire.com,the search gave me alot of links,i cant remember which one i went up under i know it was a cartoon lady talking, and then the step to get lw,when i did i had a pop up to get pro and i contacted them and a man named david talmid sent me a email to upgrade to pro,becouse i was mad about it. i had just paid 22.00 and now got to pay agian..... so he sent the email htpp://sale.limewire.com./050720/hddfuy......................../download/limewirewin.exe and that is how i got it i had lw pro4.9 and i could not upgrade to lw4.10 but when i went back to the email and click on it ,it upgrade to 4.10
