LimeWire was unable to load the Java Runtime Environment? Ok, I tried downloading it off of java.com, but that didn't work either! What should I do?? |
anyone else have Java problems??? HELP ME!!! Java wont install with my LW basic...I went to java.com and tried downloading the runtime environment, but it wont install!! Has anyone else had that problem? What should I do?? |
In times like this, I would recommend installing Java before LW. Get the "Offline" Java installer because the Java site does often have downlding issues when installing online. Get it from here Java 1.5 (take the JRE) & get the "Offline" installer. After installling, then install LW. |
java/limewire ??? my problem is.... i had a older version of LW and Java and my LW program worked fine. I decided to update the versions to the newest ones. I did java first i had some problems then finally it worked and said the installation was complete. then i went back and started updating the LW. well now The LW say it can not fully install correctly cuz i dont have the current version of java. i jave tried to go back a re-install the programs and everytime java says im good LW says im not thanks for any help you can give to me Alex |
You will need to install Java and LimeWire manually First go to the first link. You can find Links to java in there Download Java to your hard drive by putting a mark in the save to disc box. Save it to my documents or wherever you save downloads from the internet. Do the same with LimeWire the second link will take you there. Now with that done click on start then control panel add/remove programs and see if Java is listed on the list if it is uninstall it. Do the same with LimeWire if the un installers were not loaded you may have to manually delete the files. But in most cases this is not necessary. Now click on the Java installer you saved to your hard drive and follow the instructions after you have completed that do the same with LimeWire. Please post back and let us know if it worked. If it did not I will give further instructions on manually deleting Java and LimeWire. http://www.java.com/en/download/manual.jsp http://www.limewire.com/english/content/download.shtml |

It's much safer to install from your computer rather than over the internet. Package losses or other interuptions, etc. having the installer waiting whilst it's receiving data is hazardous. Also some data may be corrupted due to over zealous firewalls or antivirus, etc. So using the Offline installer ensures a safe installation because all the data is within the installer itself. ;) Commonly people's installations are corrupt due to using the online installer. This also applies to LW. ;) |
i tried it but it won't work lw still gives the same message |
