Unhappy PLEASE HELP! Limewire will not start up! P

Up until about a week ago limewire worked just fine. I uninstalled limewire, and then installed the newest version. Every time I try to open limewire, nothing happens. No error message, no limewire, nothing! I've tried the online and offline installers, installed multiple different versions, and I can't figure it out! PLEASE HELP!

Have a look at this thread .

It is likely you have a problem with Java or your preference folder. The Preference folder should be deleted with Limewire Fully closed and the Java and Limewire insatallations are best done with the off line installers. ... Installing Java, before installing Limewire

Please let us know if this helps.

Unhappy Limewire still will not open!

Thank you for the reply. However; it didn't work. Limewire still will not open. I went to the thread you told me to and ran through it twice. I downloaded the java link and everything, and still isn't working. I have attached a picture of the last screen I see before limewire quits working. I click the finish button, the hour glass shows up for a few seconds, and then nothing. Do you have any other suggestions? Thanks again!

That should have worked how did you uninstall LimeWire did you uninstal it from Add and Remove programs or did you delete it. It sounds like it may not have been completely uninstalled. You can try and delete the LimeWire folder you can do this by going to Start/C: Drive/Program Files and delete the LimeWire folder.

Also go to add and remove programs look for java and uninstall Java all versions that you see. You can get Java at the link below try 1.5.0.6 first if that doesn't work then try version 1.4 if that doesn't work there is a new version of java out 1.6 but I don't recommend it if you can get it to work with the others it is a beta it does work with LimeWire I am currently using it but it does not work with Frostwire. You can get Java 6 at the 2nd link.
