Default Limewire automatically opens after user shuts it down

This is probably the silliest problem that I have encountered for quite some time now and it involves LimeWire 4.10.

The program automatically opens. That's it. I close it, it opens up again. I close it, it opens up again. I close it again, it opens up again. I think you get the idea...

I don't know why this happens. It is not in my startup menu and it does not appear in my system tray after I close it. I don't have any files that are uploading/downloading. It is a fresh new update from an older version (I believe 4.9.1).

This problem bothers me greatly and I'll tell you why. I can't uninstall the bleeding program either (as I always receive an error message), and therefore it's like LimeWire has just walked onto my computer's harddrive and taken it over. Who knows why it's doing that? Maybe somebody's downloading information off of me while I'm away from my computer. Who knows?

These kinds of programs can NOT stand. I do NOT want a program that has more control over my system's resources than I do. Frankly, I want it off my system and NOW.

So, can you practically feel my annoyance? Thank you to anyone who can help with this problem; my frustration is not with you but rather with this silly and incredibly trivial world of technology and cyber-space. I trust that I am not alone. Thank you.

You have managed to infect your computer with a virus. I'm afraid this is easily done using a p2p application like Limewire, as a lot of files out there are infected and it is essential that you run a good anti-virus programme at all times.

This thread will give you more information:-
