lime wire blank screen

Hi,

I have been having problems with my lime wire lately. Originally i was running my lime wire on my pc with a graphics card that was an old nvidia gforce4 pci 440mx 64 mb graphics card. Everything ran smoothly and it always worked for me. I then obtained a nvidia gforce4 5200 agp 128mb card, and my lime wire still worked just fine. Last weekend, I had a friend reformat my computer and then installed my video drivers, along with black ice firewall. When i start up my lime wire now, i get the start up screen thats the right colors, but no scrolling blue bar during the initializing gui phase. When the program finally starts, i get a grey box for my "upgrade now" window, and my entire limewire interface is a grey box. I am bothered by this because it worked perfectly before i reinstalled my os. I am going to check my graphics card drivers tonight, but could black ice have anything to do with it also?

I just posted that question today, seeing this makes me nervous that mine will never be answered either. I would check java also. The firewall may have blocked java from being installed correctly. (By the way, if you do fix it tell me thanks)

I have figured this one out. Roll back your video drivers to the previous set until you find the set that works with Java. I had to do this for my radeon to work correctly

I recently fixed my Limewire graphical garbage issues which doesn't involve revertiung to older nVidia drivers or previous Java versions. Follow link below to my post

My blank window starts with the startup splash (about when the scrolling animation at the bottom should be), but it's not gray or white, it's black. If I reboot and Limewire is the first thing I've started, it's usually ok, but if I've been running a while and have used other apps first, I'll get this blank window (the splash, main window and the hints window). Also, the first time I used it, I left it running overnight and in the morning when I quit the screensaver, I had black, blank window.
I'm using Win98se on an AthlonXP 2400+ with 512mb RAM and NVIDIA GeForce FX5500
