![]() Many thanks for your prompt response and the good advice regarding back-up for my LW files. My main concern was regarding Java software which LW uses [I think] and which Microsoft informed me, "was incompatible with Windows XP." It's really too technical for me to understand but the fact that it's not been mentioned, would indicate that it's not an issue, so I won't worry. I should also mention that because I already have LimeWire installed on my system, it would automatically be accepted by the XP Firewall when THAT is installed. Right? Thanks again for your help! ![]() You will have to configure the XP firewall to allow LW access but that's no drama. If you're using another software firewall (ZoneAlarm, Norton, SyGate etc), don't bother with the XP firewall... just turn it off. If & when you need instructions for configuring firewalls, you'll find info here Firewall setup I use XP & have never had a problem with Java!! I wouldn't worry about that ![]() |
