Default Install OK basic/pro both, but wont run

Hi,
Yes I have zone alarm, and yes I have deactivated it and even tried to uninstall it, but still the new downloads of limewire will not work...it keeps saying there is a firewall, but I have even deactivated the windows one.

Please help me...

Rather than to deactivate your firewall, you should configurate it to allow LW access. Even if ZoneAlarm seems to be closed down, it may have left a background process that may be blocking outgoing traffic.
Can you give us a total description of your set up:
1. OS version? (eg: Windows 98)
2. What firewalls you have?
3. How much ram?
4. Hard Disk space available?
5. Connection type? (eg: dialup, broadband, cable, etc.)
6. Modem & router brand name & model numbers?
7. Where are you trying to connect from (home, school, work, etc.)?
8. What version of Limewire (LW) & Java do you have? (Go to LW's menu Help>About LW...) Will show both LW & Java version.
9. Who is your isp provider (Internet Service Provider)?
10. Are you sharing the connection with other computers or p2p sharing programs? If yes, please give details of set up.
11. Is this a your 1st try at LW or is this a new problem with an experienced user.
12. Do this simple test for us. Using your browser go here: http://www3.limewire.com:6346/ The page should say 'Your test worked!'. What happens when you go there?

experienced user. I have used limewire on this computer before...in fact all of a sudden it stopped working and zone alarm wont allow it to run, even when I make an exception and add to program list, the java is allowed as well...but for some reason it is still not working...it keeps saying a firewall or some other problem is causing it to not allow to start...
true zone alarm has true vector monitoring and it wont shut down...

Your router should be UPnP enabled. Some Linksys models, however, have some firmware issues & don't work well in UPnP mode. See tips about this under UPnP here:

in the worst case you might have to portforward:

Oh by the way, I have run limewire with this exact setup that I have now, well of course before I got a nasty virus and had to redo my whole system...
