![]() i appreciate the reply. i finally gave up on the installation and now even the java would not reinstall correctly. the java website has a button so you can check the download to see if it installed correctly, and the first time i put it on the computer the java website said it was ok, so i am not sure if it is a compatability with the old windows or not. but now the java website says i do not have their stuff installed, so i figured i would avoid messing up the computer further and give up on the limewire, since i am not so knowledgeable about what i am doing and the files i am deleting. you are correct, there is not much ram, i forgot to mention that. i upgraded to 256 last year. funny to think when we bought it in 2000 we "upgraded" to 128 and the guy told us how much ram that was!! |

![]() Many people do manage to run it with 256 MB RAM even though it might be slow then. Did you try the offline Java Install ? (It is recommended that you disconnect from the internet while installing it) Try going with the 1.5 update 6 It seems to be working better than the others http://www.java.com/en/download/index.jsp Just press the download button and then choose the offline installer |
