HELP! limewire 4.12.4 does not work.
 

i originally had version 4.9? then updated to version 4.10.9, which worked awesome. i decided to try the latest update and now i have no limewire at all that works. the new version removed the 4.10.9 version and now refuses to open. i had a lot of trouble downloading it, then it finally worked. now when i try to open it, it takes me thru the setup process. when i get to the screen where it says "do you want limewire to start automatically when you start your computer?" whether i click yes or no, as soon as i click "next" it just sits there frozen. i can't seem to find the 4.10.9 version for downloading anywhere and i'm going thru limewire withdrawl. somebody please help me.

Download the "Offline" version of LW 4.12.4 1st & reinstall. It will uninstall the other version during the installation process. It sounds like your LW didn't install properly. Get it here http://www.limewire.com/english/content/download.shtml

thanks for your quick reply. unforunately, it is the offline version that i have installed. the recommended version never downloaded at all, so i went for the offline. any other suggestions? can i get version 4.10.9 back? i tried a system restore on my PC and the 4.10.9 icon reappeared on my desktop, but when i tried to open it, it was version 4.12.4 that opened and failed. i appreciate your help.

You'll need to uninstall 4.12 before you installed an earlier version; ie: Start menu ->Programs ->LW>Uninstaller.
